Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Support mobility and safe transfers to reduce fall risk and promote independence
- Accurately document care and observations to keep the care team informed
- Communicate clearly and courteously with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Maintain infection control and safety standards to protect residents and staff
- Participate in unit huddles and training to contribute to continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Active CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable providing direct patient care with compassion and professionalism
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Ability to pass facility background checks and required screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident care
- Good observational skills and attention to detail for reporting changes
- Basic charting and documentation abilities; comfort with electronic or paper records
- Time management and prioritization to handle shift responsibilities
- Awareness of infection control, safety procedures, and resident rights
