Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents—assist with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition promptly to the nursing team
- Perform essential ADLs and documentation accurately and on time
- Support safe transfer and mobility practices, prioritizing resident dignity and comfort
- Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families through clear communication and empathy
Qualifications
- Current and valid CNA certification in Connecticut (or eligible to obtain)
- CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
- Demonstrated experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completed state-approved CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles and resident care standards
- Skilled in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
- Comfortable with documentation and electronic charting basics
- Good communication skills with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced care environment
