Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, making each day better
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment
- Maintain clear, timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
- Promote infection control and a clean, safe environment for everyone
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to coordinate care
Qualifications
- Current, valid CNA certification in the state (required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or required by facility
- Comfortable providing direct patient care and working as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care is a plus
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Ability to measure and document vital signs accurately
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling practices
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting is helpful
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
