Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to acute patients, focusing on comfort and dignity
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition promptly
- Support nursing staff with patient transfers, positioning, and safe handling
- Maintain accurate patient care documentation and adhere to facility protocols
- Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect patients and team members
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in good standing
- Experience or demonstrated competency in acute care settings preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Physical stamina for 12.5-hour shifts and safe patient handling
Education
- CNA certification and high school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care and ADL assistance
- Proficient in taking and documenting vital signs
- Familiarity with infection control practices and facility safety protocols
- Comfortable with electronic and paper charting systems
- Effective interpersonal skills for patient and family interactions
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced acute setting
