Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to acute patients, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, toileting, feeding and mobility support
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support wound care and basic clinical procedures under RN direction
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to high-quality patient records
• Practice infection control and safety standards to protect patients and staff
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated patient care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (CNA) — state certification required; Hawaii certification preferred
• Previous acute care experience preferred but new grads with strong clinical skills are welcome
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and manage the physical demands of patient care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safe patient handling
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
• Team-oriented mindset and good time-management skills
• Basic electronic medical record (EMR) navigation skills a plus
