Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support and guidance to new employees, experienced staff, and students
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and ongoing educational programs
• Mentor nursing staff and serve as a clinical practice resource for complex patient care
• Support safe medication administration and treatment plan implementation
• Act as a liaison between nursing staff and leadership to communicate concerns and feedback
• Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and implement targeted interventions
• Facilitate adoption of new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment with staff training
• Perform quality control audits and report concerns related to clinical accuracy and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure for the state of Alaska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC and High Risk Competency - SEARHC
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in acute care settings preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work varying schedules including weekends and holidays

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Sound knowledge of clinical practice standards and procedures
• Proficient in comprehensive patient assessment and acute care management
• Safe medication administration and familiarity with relevant equipment
• Experience with evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives
• Proficient with electronic health records and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Effective teaching methods and ability to deliver continuing education
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Critical thinking and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations
