Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and report clinical changes promptly
- Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Assist nursing team with treatments, bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in resident charts
- Promote a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control protocols
- Engage residents with respect and preserve dignity through person-centered care
- Communicate effectively with families and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification valid in Connecticut
- Active and clear background checks and required immunizations as per facility policy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable with hands-on resident care and mobility assistance
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Understanding of infection control and safe patient handling
- Good charting and documentation practices
- Strong communication and observational skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and patience with residents
