Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, compassionate care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and communicate changes to the nursing team
- Support mobility, hygiene and feeding needs while promoting resident dignity
- Assist nursing staff with resident transfers and basic medical tasks as delegated
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and contribute to a safe care environment
- Build warm, respectful relationships with residents and their families
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Eligible to work as a CNA in Connecticut or able to transfer/obtain state certification
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and working in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous nursing home or long-term care experience preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care and infection control practices
- Skilled in taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Ability to follow care plans and report observations clearly
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
- Team collaboration and time management during busy shifts
