Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Assist residents safely with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Support a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Document care and resident interactions accurately and timely
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver resident-centered care with dignity and respect
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification valid in Pennsylvania
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program
- Comfortable with hands-on resident care and lifting/transfer techniques
- Ability to pass background check and facility-required screenings
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain per facility policy
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- CNA certification from an accredited/state-approved program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing assistant skills and resident bedside care
- Infection control and proper use of PPE
- Familiarity with privacy standards (HIPAA) and respectful documentation
- Time management to handle scheduled care and unexpected needs
- Clear communication with residents, families, and nursing staff
- Dependability and a positive, patient-centered approach
