Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team to ensure timely, safe care
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support, using proper body mechanics
- Support mealtime needs and monitor intake as directed by care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and follow established facility protocols
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and support staff to create a positive environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required)
- Active certification or ability to obtain certification in Pennsylvania
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- A caring attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team
- Previous experience as a CNA or in long-term care is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care and infection control practices
- Ability to follow care plans and document observations accurately
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents and families
- Comfort with physical tasks such as lifting, transferring, and personal care
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
