Certified Nursing Assistant - Acute
Location: Honolulu, HI
Start Date: 04-02-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (specific start/end times and assigned days to be scheduled by facility)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $27 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to acute-care patients, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support safe patient transfers and mobility with appropriate techniques
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient chart
- Collaborate closely with nurses and multidisciplinary team members to promote positive outcomes
- Uphold infection control practices and facility policies at all times
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Experience or comfort working in an acute care setting preferred
- Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts, including rotating schedules
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of acute care routines and patient needs
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, patient hygiene, safe transfers
- Familiarity with infection prevention and standard precautions
- Attention to detail in documentation and handoff communication
- Teamwork, reliability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
