Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site prevention, evaluation, and management of athletic injuries at contracted high school events
• Perform thorough histories and musculoskeletal physical evaluations to diagnose injuries and create treatment plans
• Manage concussion care including symptom monitoring and supervised return-to-play progression
• Document treatments and evaluations accurately and timely
• Communicate assessment findings and care plans clearly with athletes, parents, coaches, and clinical team members
• Conduct occupational health tasks such as POETs, desk assessments, and FPNs to support safe return-to-work decisions
• Design and supervise rehabilitation and job-specific conditioning programs to optimize recovery and function
• Coordinate schedules to ensure event coverage and collaborate with clinic staff as a physician extender (scheduling, patient education, pre-op histories)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• Minimum 1+ years of related work experience
• Current Athletic Trainer license in the state of Wisconsin required and must be maintained
• Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers credential required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in musculoskeletal examination and concussion evaluation
• Knowledgeable in emergency care and occupational health practices
• Experience with injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols
• Proficient with computers for documentation and scheduling
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to coordinate schedules and provide event coverage reliably
