Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of outpatient imaging areas, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered imaging services.
• Manage staffing and daily schedules to meet budget and productivity targets while supporting staff development.
• Supervise and mentor Lead and Senior Technologists; provide guidance, performance feedback, and coaching.
• Oversee image quality control and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Participate in program development and department performance improvement initiatives.
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians, and care teams to resolve issues and improve service.
• Monitor departmental function, evaluate service delivery, and report staffing/service levels to leadership.
• Contribute to quality improvement processes and ensure compliance with Joint Commission, ACR, Title 17 & 22 requirements.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures and provide education to patients, families, students, and staff as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (clerical, nursing, service engineers) to coordinate imaging services.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience as a Diagnostic Technologist in an acute-care setting.
• At least two years supervisory experience in an acute-care setting; 3–5 years prior supervisory/managerial experience desired.
• Current full Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by CA Department of Health Services OR current ARRT license.
• Current CPR certification.
• Desired: specialized certification (NMT, MRI or other recognized specialty certifications).
• Proven leadership, excellent communication, strong problem-solving, and the ability to motivate and delegate effectively.

Education

• Associate Degree (in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, and ACR survey/compliance and performance criteria.
• Strong clinical knowledge: patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic exposure, image quality control.
• Understanding of radiation physics, radiation protection, and radiobiology.
• Experience with quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement processes.
• Ability to monitor, evaluate, and administer departmental resources and recommend allocations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to foster respectful, responsive interdepartmental communication.
