Shift Type: Sunday-Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Facilitate communication between deaf and hearing students and staff in a school setting
Interpret classroom lectures, discussions, and school events using ASL
Prepare and adapt materials to support effective interpreting
Collaborate with teachers and specialists to meet student needs
Maintain confidentiality and professional standards

Qualifications

Valid ASL Interpreter certification (RID, BEI, or equivalent)
Experience in educational interpreting preferred
Strong command of both ASL and English
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Passion for supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students

Knowledge & Skills

Fluent in American Sign Language and spoken English
Knowledge of interpreter ethics and best practices
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Adaptability to various classroom settings
Basic computer skills for documentation
