Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to long term care residents using evidence-based practice
• Perform timely assessments and NIHSS evaluations when clinically indicated
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, documenting in the medical record
• Maintain BLS certification and apply emergency response skills confidently
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to ensure competency
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Adhere to infection control practices and facility-specific health requirements
• Support continuity of care by performing thorough shift handoffs and accurate charting

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse credential with license/certificate verification required
• Current BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Willingness to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings and occupational tests (fit test, drug screen, color vision, TB/IGRA, etc.)
• Up-to-date immunizations as listed by the facility (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)
• Comfortable working independently in a per diem pool and adapting to different facility workflows

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of long term care nursing practices and resident-centered care
• Proficiency in patient assessment, medication administration, and wound care basics
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting skills
• Good clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management in busy settings
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with residents, families, and staff
• Familiarity with infection prevention and vaccine protocols
• Ability to learn and complete facility-specific competency testing quickly
