Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process: assess, plan, intervene and evaluate
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policies and the state practice act
• Maintain accurate, comprehensive documentation that supports continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate complex patient care
• Educate patients and families, tailoring teaching to individual needs and health literacy
• Participate in performance improvement and shared governance initiatives to enhance care delivery
• Support patient flow in clinic and ambulatory settings and respond professionally to telephone triage
• Use clinical judgment to manage complex situations and escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command

Qualifications

• Current IL RN licensure (IDFPR) required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of critical care experience
• Experience in Interventional Radiology and Cardiovascular Intervention required; Interventional Neurology experience strongly preferred
• Current CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Successful completion of an EKG test prior to completion of orientation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills to manage acute and complex patients
• Medication administration and safe practice knowledge
• Excellent documentation practices and attention to detail
• Telephone triage skills and professional communication with patients and families
• EKG interpretation skills (will be validated during onboarding)
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and influence positive team dynamics
• Experience with performance improvement and shared governance activities
