Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and provide high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg and ER patients
• Administer medications and treatments safely following ACLS/PALS/CPR protocols
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient plans
• Perform accurate and timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Respond to emergency situations calmly, using trauma/ER skills when needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and uphold patient safety standards
• Model professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful teamwork across departments

Qualifications

• Current California RN license in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Emergency Room nurse (Med/Surg cross-coverage expected)
• Current ACLS, PALS, and CPR certifications (mandatory)
• TNCC required within one year of hire
• Completion of annual Sexual Harassment Prevention Training certificate prior to start (temporary worker requirement)
• Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization with strong communication skills
• Willingness to wear Carobbean Blue nursing scrubs (facility requirement)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills for both Med/Surg and emergency care
• Effective verbal and written communication with patients, families, and team members
• Trauma recognition and initial management (TNCC-related abilities)
• Interpersonal skills: teamwork, professionalism, and respect for confidentiality
• Problem-solving under pressure and the ability to prioritize multiple patients
• Familiarity with documentation standards and clinical workflows
