Roles & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver evidence-based labor and delivery care
• Promote continuity of care by communicating effectively with patients, families and care team members
• Direct and coordinate support staff to ensure safe, timely patient care
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and apply critical thinking to nursing judgment
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation to support optimal patient outcomes
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care across age-specific populations in the acute setting

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program (BSN preferred)
• Current Iowa RN license in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• Current AHA BLS (HeartCode) required; new employees must certify within three months of hire
• Current ACLS certification required (new hires should obtain per policy)
• Nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Strong verbal communication, empathetic listening, and teamwork skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to read and communicate effectively in English

Education

• Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred

• Clinical documentation and charting accuracy
• Support staff supervision and team coordination
• Acute care nursing fundamentals and nursing judgment
