Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead perianesthesia unit operations during your shift, ensuring smooth patient flow and safe handoffs
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff as the charge RN, providing guidance and clinical support
• Coordinate with surgical and anesthesia teams to prioritize patient care and throughput
• Assess and triage post-anesthesia patients, intervening promptly when needed
• Document care accurately and communicate clear plans during shift reports
• Resolve staffing or resource issues on shift and escalate appropriately to maintain quality

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• BLS and ACLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year recent experience as a charge or relief charge nurse in a perianesthesia care unit
• CPAN or CAPA certification preferred (nice-to-have)
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in post-anesthesia patient assessment, monitoring, and recovery care
• Knowledgeable about airway, pain, and hemodynamic management in the PACU setting
• Ability to prioritize tasks, lead a team, and manage patient flow effectively
• Comfortable collaborating with surgical, anesthesia, and ancillary teams
