Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake: record vitals, medical history and reason for visit accurately
• Prepare patients and assist providers during exams to ensure efficient, quality care
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform routine point-of-care testing with attention to detail
• Document patient encounters and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record
• Administer medications and injections within scope of practice and facility policy
• Triage patient concerns, provide clear discharge instructions and patient education
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for patients
• Collaborate with the care team to support smooth clinic operations and positive patient experiences

Qualifications

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential — required
• Comfortable working a full 40-hour week with rotating day/evening shifts and weekends
• Strong patient communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Ability to perform routine clinical tasks (vitals, EKG, phlebotomy) and follow standing orders
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or willingness to obtain
• Background checks and required immunizations up to date as per client policy

Education

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven competence taking vitals and obtaining accurate patient histories
• Experience with specimen collection and point-of-care testing
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Good clinical judgment and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and teamwork
• Understanding of infection control, HIPAA and basic clinic safety protocols
