Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake: record vitals, medical histories, and current medications with care and accuracy
- Prepare patients and assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
- Administer injections and perform routine clinical tasks within scope of practice
- Collect and process lab specimens following facility protocols
- Document encounters and maintain patient records in the clinic’s EHR with attention to detail
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families to support positive experiences
- Coordinate patient flow and help maintain a safe, organized clinical environment
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required
- Active state certification or license as required by Minnesota for medical assistants
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working in outpatient clinic settings and supporting a busy care team
- Willingness to complete a short-term travel assignment and relocate temporarily for the contract period
Education
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in taking vitals, medication administration, and basic clinical procedures
- Strong patient communication and customer-service skills
- Familiarity with EHR documentation and patient charting best practices
- Basic phlebotomy and specimen handling skills
- Infection control, safety practices, and adherence to clinical protocols
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and support a collaborative healthcare team
