Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns
• Perform triage assessments and non-stress tests (NSTs) to evaluate maternal and fetal well-being
• Serve as second nurse at deliveries and assist with delivery management and overflow patients
• Collaborate closely with physicians, pediatricians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Support and manage patients experiencing complications during pregnancy, birth, or recovery
• Educate and empower families on newborn care and postpartum recovery

Qualifications

• Labor-trained RN with demonstrated experience in Labor & Delivery and postpartum care
• Certifications required: NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or above)
• Comfortable acting as second nurse at deliveries and providing newborn care
• Experience working in a Critical Access Hospital or similar rural setting is a strong plus
• Strong teamwork, communication, and triage skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Newborn care and stabilization, including STABLE protocols
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) procedures
• Postpartum assessment and support for mother and infant
• Triage and non-stress test (NST) administration
• Delivery assistance and safe labor management
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with pediatrics and physicians in fast-paced settings
