Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Primarily Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (10-hour day shift) with variable days; alternating weekends and holidays; rotating coverage between CHA main campus and hospital-based clinics (day shift)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $32 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections accurately and compassionately to support patient care
- Label, process, and transport specimens promptly to maintain sample integrity
- Maintain accurate patient identification and documentation for every draw
- Communicate clearly with nursing staff and providers about specimen needs and results
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and team members
- Help train or mentor newer staff when opportunities arise to share your expertise
- Adapt to rotating clinic assignments and changing patient needs while maintaining high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current phlebotomy certification or relevant clinical certification (required)
- Active state licensure or ability to obtain required Montana credentials
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous phlebotomy experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred
- Comfort with variable schedules, alternating weekends, and occasional holiday coverage
- Strong attention to detail, excellent bedside manner, and good communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven venipuncture and capillary collection technique
- Knowledge of specimen handling, labeling, and chain-of-custody procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize in a busy clinical environment
