Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and accurately dispense medications to support patient safety and positive outcomes
• Review medication orders and clinical notes to catch interactions and dosing issues
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize therapy plans
• Support inventory management and ensure medication availability during emergency coverage
• Educate patients and staff about medications, side effects, and safe use
• Document interventions and maintain accurate records to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active RPh (Registered Pharmacist) credential required
• Eligible for or currently holding a Texas pharmacist license
• PharmD preferred or equivalent pharmacy degree
• Prior experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred and immunization certification a plus
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and a team-focused mindset

Education

• PharmD (Doctor of Pharmacy) preferred; BS in Pharmacy or equivalent considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and dosing principles
• Experience with medication safety practices and error prevention
• Comfort using electronic medication administration and pharmacy systems
• Ability to counsel patients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Inventory control, sterile compounding basics, and formulary management awareness
