Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and assist in implementing treatment plans
- Collaborate with PTs and the care team to progress patient mobility and function
- Deliver compassionate patient education to support home exercise programs and safe discharge
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
- Assist with gait training, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment to maximize independence
- Participate in team huddles and contribute clinical observations to enhance care plans
Qualifications
- Licensed or certified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the U.S., or eligible for MA licensure
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Comfortable working with adult and geriatric populations in a rehabilitation setting
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting (or equivalent accredited PTA program)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skills in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility
- Knowledge of ADLs, assistive devices, and adaptive equipment
- Competence with documentation and electronic medical records
- Ability to follow care plans and modify interventions under PT supervision
- Good clinical reasoning, time management, and patient-centered care approach
