Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients in the Uptown Health/ Rehabilitation area, delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with therapists, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to create and execute individualized care plans
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery, discharge planning and long-term health goals
• Perform skilled nursing tasks such as wound care, IV maintenance and mobility assistance as required
• Advocate for patient needs while maintaining a compassionate and professional bedside manner
• Contribute to a positive safety culture by following facility protocols and reporting concerns promptly

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) — New Mexico license or compact privilege recommended
• Current BLS certification; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) welcomed based on unit needs
• Clinical experience in rehabilitation, med-surg or related inpatient nursing preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage longer day shifts and prioritize patient safety
• Strong communication, teamwork and documentation skills
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Rehabilitation principles and mobility assistance techniques
• Excellent communication, patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Time management and ability to work efficiently during extended day shifts
