Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients in the Uptown Health/ Rehabilitation area, delivering safe, evidence-based nursing care
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document all care in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with therapists, physicians and interdisciplinary team members to create and execute individualized care plans
- Provide patient and family education to support recovery, discharge planning and long-term health goals
- Perform skilled nursing tasks such as wound care, IV maintenance and mobility assistance as required
- Advocate for patient needs while maintaining a compassionate and professional bedside manner
- Contribute to a positive safety culture by following facility protocols and reporting concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (RN) — New Mexico license or compact privilege recommended
- Current BLS certification; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) welcomed based on unit needs
- Clinical experience in rehabilitation, med-surg or related inpatient nursing preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage longer day shifts and prioritize patient safety
- Strong communication, teamwork and documentation skills
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- BSN preferred where available
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
- Rehabilitation principles and mobility assistance techniques
- Excellent communication, patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Time management and ability to work efficiently during extended day shifts
