Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care and improve flow
• Assess, monitor, and document patient condition and response to treatment
• Collaborate closely with ER physicians, APPs, and allied health staff to coordinate care
• Communicate changes in patient status and diagnostic results clearly and promptly
• Provide direction to Emergency Department techs and registration staff as needed
• Respond rapidly and confidently to emergencies and changes in clinical condition
• Work cooperatively with patients and families to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
• Contribute to departmental efficiency and patient flow through sound clinical judgment

Qualifications

• Current RN license (Montana license or compact license accepted where applicable)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Experience in emergency nursing or triage preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Comfort providing direction to techs and supporting ED operations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing practices and triage principles
• Rapid patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Clear clinical communication with physicians, APPs, and team members
• Patient monitoring and recognition of acute changes
• Teamwork, supervision, and ED operations awareness
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting
