Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and identify rhythm changes to keep patients safe
• Titrate cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerin, diltiazem/Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine) per protocol
• Manage insulin and heparin infusions and titratable drips accurately
• Perform bedside cardioversion and operate Zoll defibrillator when called upon
• Administer loop diuretics and other cardiac therapies with close assessment
• Document care precisely in Cerner EMR and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff to deliver compassionate cardiac-focused care
• Serve as a reliable team player during every other weekend and float coverage

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state authorization required)
• Minimum 2 years of progressive care / telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Comfortable titrating cardiac IV medications and managing insulin/heparin drips
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and bedside cardioversion
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR (documenting and med administration)
• Preferred: experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and relief charge experience

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm interpretation and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Titration protocols for cardiac medications and vasoactive drips
• Safe management of infusion pumps (Baxter) and hemodynamic monitoring
• Bedside cardioversion and Zoll defibrillator operation
• Care for patients with CHF, MI, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, post-cath/stent, pacer/ICD
• Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and situational awareness
• Proficient documentation within Cerner EMR and clear interdisciplinary communication
