Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Deliver high-quality emergency and trauma care including stroke and cardiopulmonary management
• Perform bedside procedures such as ultrasound-guided IV insertion, IO insertion and laceration care
• Obtain and interpret EKGs and participate in rapid response and trauma team activations
• Administer medications safely using Alaris pumps and the Rapid Infuser and manage Pyxis workflows
• Document patient care thoroughly and efficiently in Sunrise/Allscripts EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient disposition and specialty consults
• Provide compassionate psychiatric care for patients in the secure annex and manage behavioral holds
• Support department surge responses while maintaining safety and adherence to protocol

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice (must be eligible to practice in New Hampshire)
• Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required for contract labor
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC required for contract nurses
• Experience with trauma, stroke care and rapid response situations
• Proficiency with ultrasound-guided IV insertion and IO insertion
• Comfortable using Sunrise/Allscripts EMR and Pyxis medication systems
• Dependable, punctual and able to work rotating nights and every other weekend

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; ADN/BSN or nursing diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency department and rapid response experience
• Trauma and stroke care protocols
• EKG acquisition and interpretation
• Ultrasound-guided IV and IO insertion techniques
• Medication administration with Alaris pumps and Rapid Infuser
• Familiarity with Pyxis and medication automation
• Sunrise/Allscripts EMR documentation
• Strong critical thinking, communication and adaptability
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, team-based environment
