Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess critically ill patients, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Manage advanced devices and therapies including ventilators, IABP/Impella and SLED/TABLO
• Titrate vasopressors and IV sedation safely to maintain hemodynamic goals
• Perform or assist with advanced procedures such as rapid sequence intubation and EVD care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and execute patient-centered care plans
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Meditech to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in emergency responses including cardioversion, MTP activation and thrombectomy support
• Advocate for patient safety and coach team members on best practices

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact or Texas RN license required for practice in TX)
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale competency required
• Preferred: Trauma credentials such as TNCC, CATN or TCAR
• Preferred: Post-op cardiac surgery experience (CABG, valve replacements) and experience with IABP/Impella

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing skills and comfort with 1:2 (sometimes 1:1) patient ratios
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical record
• Experience with ventilator management and airway interventions
• Familiarity with arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters and hemodynamic monitoring
• Hands-on knowledge of SLED/TABLO, Belmont rapid infuser and MTP processes
• Ability to administer TNK, manage vasopressors and provide IV sedation safely
• Skilled in post-op cardiac care, thrombectomy support, EVD management and nitric oxide therapy
• Team player mindset, driven to learn, and a strong patient safety advocate
