Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating schedule with every-other-weekend coverage required (exact days vary per schedule)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency department
- Provide evidence-based, compassionate care for trauma, stroke, sepsis, DKA and complex cardiac cases
- Perform and interpret EKGs and initiate appropriate interventions
- Place and manage IVs (including ultrasound-guided IV) and IO lines as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, ED techs and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care and disposition
- Use clinical judgment and departmental protocols to order initial workups and start treatments
- Manage psychiatric holds and provide safe, respectful care in the secure annex area
- Document care thoroughly in the Sunrise/Allscripts EMR and communicate changes to the care team
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to work in New Hampshire)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience for contract roles
- BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC required for contract labor (MOAB preferred for some staff)
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills with dependable, punctual work habits
- Excellent communication skills with patients and peers; teamwork-oriented
- Comfortable with trauma care, stroke protocols, and cardiopulmonary support
- Experience with ultrasound-guided IV insertion and IO insertion preferred
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing assessment and rapid triage
- EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring
- IV skills including ultrasound-guided access and IO insertion
- Trauma management and laceration/orthopedic care support
- Stroke care protocols and sepsis/DKA initial management
- Familiarity with Sunrise/Allscripts EMR and typical ED equipment (Alaris pumps, Pyxis, rapid infusers)
- Strong medical terminology knowledge and protocol-driven decision making
