Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Day); on-call required
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile instrumentation and supplies for a 4-room operating suite
- Assist surgeons and the OR team during procedures with focus and precision
- Perform surgical counts and document instrument and sponge usage accurately
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and help ensure patient safety every step of the way
- Help turnover operating rooms efficiently between cases to keep the schedule moving
- Participate in on-call coverage when scheduled and respond promptly when needed
- Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to improve workflow and patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred; OR experience welcomed
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfortable working in a 4-room OR at a 25-bed critical access hospital
- Ability to take call and respond when scheduled for after-hours coverage
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Relevant experience in surgical services or scrub tech role preferred (1+ year ideal)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technology program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Proficient in surgical counts, room turnover, and instrument handling
- Familiarity with common surgical procedures and OR protocols
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and work efficiently under pressure
- Good documentation practices and attention to detail
