Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during weeknight hours
• Assess, monitor and document patient status and respond promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate effective care plans
• Provide patient and family education to support recovery and discharge planning
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives on the unit
• Respond to emergencies and escalate concerns according to protocol

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Iowa (or compact license as applicable)
• Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Minimum clinical experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Current immunizations and clear background/drug screening as required
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently overnight

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for acute patient care
• Proficient in medication administration and electronic charting
• Familiarity with common inpatient workflows and patient safety practices
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in urgent situations
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on compassionate bedside care
