Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care on the long-term care unit
- Assess resident conditions, monitor vital signs, and report changes promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and follow care plans
- Document resident care clearly and timely in the clinical record
- Support residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence
- Serve as a mentor and resource to CNA staff during the night shift
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana or eligibility to obtain one (posting indicates MT-RN)
- Current BLS certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) a plus
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric nursing preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently during night shifts and collaborate with onsite team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of long-term care best practices and nursing standards
- Proficiency in medication administration and infection control procedures
- Comfortable with resident assessments, documentation, and care planning
- Skilled at prioritizing tasks and managing multiple residents safely
- Compassionate bedside manner and ability to de-escalate challenging situations
