Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory care to NICU patients, including ventilator management and respiratory support
• Lead neonatal resuscitation efforts when needed, using current NRP standards
• Perform bedside assessments and deliver timely, evidence-based interventions
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize infant outcomes
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of respiratory treatments and progress
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and required skills checklists to ensure clinical excellence
• Support family-centered care by communicating treatments and plans clearly and compassionately

Qualifications

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• License/Certificate Verification required (active respiratory therapist credentials)
• NICU experience and comfort with neonatal ventilators and support modalities
• Completion of required pre-employment health screenings (Fit Test, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen)
• Up-to-date immunizations as listed (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Influenza, Tdap)
• Willingness to complete Trinity-specific competencies and skills checklists

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of neonatal respiratory physiology and ventilator strategies
• Skilled in neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and emergency respiratory interventions
• Proficient with NICU ventilators, CPAP, and other neonatal respiratory devices
• Excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced multidisciplinary NICU environment
• Calm, clear communicator with families and clinical teammates
