Roles & Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to all cardiology calls for the hospital
• Perform interventional procedures including PCI, balloon angioplasty, coronary angiograms, and heart catheterizations
• Provide general cardiology consults for the inpatient adult population as needed
• Interpret diagnostic studies such as EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests including nuclear stress
• Ensure EMTALA-compliant inpatient coverage and appropriate transfer/consult decisions
• Document care accurately in Epic Cupid and communicate clearly with the existing cardiology team

Qualifications

• MD or DO with completed fellowship in Interventional Cardiology
• Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology
• Active or eligible for medical licensure in Kentucky
• Demonstrated experience with PCI, coronary angiography, and cath lab procedures
• Comfortable providing inpatient and EMTALA call coverage
• Current BLS and ACLS (or ability to obtain prior to start)

Education

• MD or DO degree
• Completion of Cardiology fellowship and Interventional Cardiology fellowship

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven expertise in PCI and cath lab techniques
• Strong ability to interpret EKGs, ECHOs, stress tests, including nuclear studies
• Familiarity with inpatient cardiology workflows and EMTALA regulations
• Experience with Epic Cupid or ability to adapt quickly to Epic systems
• Clear clinical judgment for on-call decision making and consult triage
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a hospital setting
