Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive wound assessment and management for acute, chronic, surgical and traumatic wounds
• Treat and manage pressure, diabetic and vascular ulcers with evidence-based approaches
• Perform and supervise debridement and incision & drainage when clinically indicated
• Oversee and deliver Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) as part of wound treatment plans
• Implement and manage Negative Pressure Wound Therapy and topical therapies
• Design and prescribe pouch systems for draining wounds and fistulae
• Educate patients and their support network on wound prevention, dressing techniques and self-care
• Document clinical care accurately in EPIC and coordinate multidisciplinary care to improve outcomes
• Initiate preventative measures to reduce incidence of pressure and vascular ulcers

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Board Certification in Wound Care (Board Certified Wound Care Physician)
• Active or eligible medical license in Oregon (ability to obtain state license required)
• Clinical experience with HBOT, debridement, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy and topical therapies
• Proficiency with EPIC or demonstrated ability to learn the EMR quickly
• Strong critical thinking, communication and patient education skills
• Ability to meet physical job requirements (standing, bending, lifting up to 75 pounds as needed)
• Not accepting Locums candidates
• Open to H-1B and J-1 visa candidates

Education

• Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) protocols and oversight
• Negative Pressure Wound Therapy application and management
• Debridement techniques and post-surgical incision care
• Use of bioengineered skin products and topical therapies
• Designing pouch systems for draining wounds and fistulae
• Patient education, documentation best practices, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Effective critical thinking and clear clinical communication
