Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency medical care to adult and pediatric patients in a Level II Trauma Center
• Perform critical procedures including intubation, chest tube placement, central venous access, and procedural sedation
• Manage obstetric emergencies and assist with OB/GYN procedures and deliveries when needed
• Lead resuscitations for adult and pediatric patients and coordinate trauma team activation
• Document care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Collaborate with nursing and ancillary staff to ensure safe, timely patient throughput
• Make independent clinical decisions in a setting without midlevel providers and escalate when appropriate

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or equivalent) with completion of Emergency Medicine residency
• Current or current-eligible North Dakota medical license (ability to obtain ND license required)
• Active DEA registration or ability to obtain
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS; PALS preferred
• Comfort and demonstrable experience with airway management, chest tubes, central lines, and procedural sedation
• Experience with EPIC or other major EMR systems preferred
• Willingness to travel and work independently without midlevel providers

Education

• MD or DO (Emergency Medicine residency completed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Medicine principles and trauma care
• Advanced airway management and adult/pediatric resuscitation
• Procedural competence: chest tubes, central lines, procedural sedation
• OB/GYN emergency procedures and delivery management
• Familiarity with EPIC for documentation and order entry
• Ability to triage high-acuity patients and lead multidisciplinary teams
• Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and clear communication under pressure
