Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT and general diagnostic radiography exams while maintaining patient safety and comfort
- Position patients accurately and use anatomy knowledge to obtain optimal images
- Administer contrast media per CT protocols, inspect supplies, and follow sterile technique when required
- Operate portable X-ray and C-Arm equipment for bedside and OR imaging
- Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
- Review images for diagnostic quality and repeat studies as needed with professional judgment
- Document exams, update charge reports, and ensure images/states are properly loaded into STENTOR
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, radiologists, and the healthcare team to ensure appropriate care
- Report equipment malfunctions and participate in routine equipment warmups and QC procedures
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and departmental policies
Qualifications
- Current Washington State DOH Certified Radiologic Technologist license (required)
- ARRT (R) registration (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- At least 3 years of imaging experience, with CT experience required
- Comfortable using STENTOR and performing image quality reviews and charge reporting
Education
- Successful completion of an Accredited Radiologic Technology Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Computed Tomography (CT) techniques and protocols
- Diagnostic radiography and portable X-ray operations
- C-Arm operation for intraoperative imaging
- Contrast media preparation and administration best practices
- Radiation safety principles (ALARA) and use of monitoring devices
- Patient positioning and immobilization techniques
- Image acquisition, quality control, and PACS/STENTOR workflow
- Sterile technique, HIPAA compliance, and strong patient communication
- Teamwork, problem solving, and professional communication in a clinical setting
