Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM (Day shift). Call stay required. No weekend requirement.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor post-anesthesia patients closely, intervening quickly to maintain stability
- Administer medications and manage pain protocols safely and effectively
- Perform airway management and advanced post-op care when needed
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the interprofessional team to coordinate patient handoffs
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic record
- Provide compassionate patient and family education during recovery and discharge
- Participate in specialty competency testing and skills validation (Trinity checklists)
- Respond to emergent situations in the PACU with calm, evidence-based actions
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (state licensure as required)
- Experience or demonstrated competence in PACU/Post-Anesthesia Care (post-anesthesia care skills expected)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Willingness to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skill checklists
- Ability to pass license/certificate verification and required health screenings (vaccines, TB testing, drug screen, fit test, etc.)
- Comfort with call stay responsibilities and weekday-focused coverage
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; nursing diploma acceptable if it meets state RN licensure requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia assessment and recovery protocols
- Skilled in vital signs monitoring, sedation assessment, and pain management
- Familiarity with airway management and emergency response in post-op patients
- Proficient with electronic health records and clear clinical documentation
- Ability to prioritize multiple patients while maintaining safety and quality
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a perioperative environment
- Competency with specialty-specific monitoring equipment and medication administration
- Detail-oriented approach to following infection control and safety protocols
