Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist and scrub for high-acuity Vascular procedures, maintaining expert instrument handling
• Support Orthopedic and Neurosurgery cases as needed, demonstrating breadth of perioperative skills
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instrumentation, and central processing responsibilities
• Respond to on-call activations and arrive on site within 30 minutes when called
• Float to General OR or the Outpatient Surgery Center during periods of low census or high demand
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses and techs to ensure patient safety and efficient case flow
• Document case specifics and instrument counts accurately to support patient care and compliance
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by sharing observations and best practices

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) preferred but not required
• Proven experience across Vascular, Orthopedic and Neurosurgery (current breadth of experience required)
• Ability to respond on-call within 30 minutes and participate in weekend/holiday rotations
• Comfort floating to General OR and working in the Outpatient Surgery Center when needed
• Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• BLS required; CST preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative scrub techniques and sterile processing knowledge
• Central processing and instrumentation expertise
• Familiarity with vascular-specific instruments and implants
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and adapt to changing case volume
• Team-focused communication and teamwork in the OR environment
• Accurate instrument counts, documentation, and adherence to safety protocols
