Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for adult ICU patients, managing ventilators and advanced monitoring
• Respond rapidly and effectively as part of the Rapid Response and critical care team
• Perform thorough patient assessments and implement evidence-based interventions
• Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment including cardiac monitors, IV pumps and EVD/Lumbar drain devices
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in Meditech
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Support unit throughput and safe patient handoffs during night shift operations
• Mentor colleagues and contribute to a positive, team-focused unit culture

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (Colorado or Compact RN preferred)
• ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS certification required
• Experience in ICU or critical care and exposure to rapid response/acute neurology cases preferred
• Comfortable with ventilators, cardiac monitoring, IV/enteral pump management and neurologic devices
• Current basic life support and advanced cardiac life support certifications
• Ability to meet travel nurse credentialing and onboarding requirements for a travel assignment

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
• Hands-on experience with ventilators and advanced airway management
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record documentation
• Proficiency with cardiac monitoring and hemodynamic assessment
• Skilled with IV pumps, tube feed pumps and managing complex infusions
• Experience with neuro-critical care devices such as EVD, lumbar drains, continuous EEG and Licox
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and communicate clearly under pressure
