Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical ventilation and ventilator settings for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients to optimize respiratory function
• Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) to guide clinical decisions
• Provide endotracheal intubation and airway management when indicated
• Document patient care, ventilator settings, and interventions accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with ICU, NICU, and interdisciplinary teams to plan and deliver safe, patient-centered respiratory care
• Support perioperative and fast-track care for cardiac and critically ill patients
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including Puritan Bennett and Hamilton ventilators

Qualifications

• Active Indiana state Respiratory Therapy license
• BLS, NRP, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
• Comfortable caring for newborns, pediatric, and adult patients in ICU and NICU settings
• Proven skills with mechanical ventilation, ABG collection/interpretation, and intubation
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and hospital respiratory equipment

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with Puritan Bennett 840/980 and Hamilton T1/V60 ventilators
• Strong ABG interpretation and ventilator management skills
• Airway management and intubation proficiency
• Accurate electronic documentation using Meditech
• Ability to work effectively in critical care, NICU, and fast-track cardiac care environments
