Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate respiratory care for adult ICU patients, ensuring high-quality treatment and safety
• Supervise and mentor RT staff on your shift, acting as the team lead and clinical resource
• Manage ventilator settings and advanced respiratory equipment for complex patients
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as ABGs, bronchoscopy assistance, and patient transport
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in the EMR (Meditech) and ensure compliance with unit policies
• Float to PCU, ER, and floor units as needed to meet patient care demands

Qualifications

• NBRC certification required
• Current Texas respiratory license required
• BLS required
• Adult ICU clinical experience required
• Team leader or charge RT experience preferred
• ICU and ER experience preferred; ACLS is a plus
• Comfortable floating between ICU, PCU, ER, and floor assignments

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent preferred
• NBRC credentialing required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with ventilators including GE860, Hamilton C1, and Philips V60
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for charting and documentation
• Skilled in ABG sampling and interpretation
• Experience assisting with bronchoscopy and critical patient transport
• Strong communication, leadership, and team coordination skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
