Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms with attention to patient comfort and image quality
• Operate digital mammography and tomosynthesis equipment, specifically GE Senographe Pristina
• Execute magnification and spot compression views and advanced imaging techniques as required
• Assist with and perform stereotactic biopsies and pre-surgical localizations following unit protocols
• Administer IV contrast when certified and manage IV-related patient care with sterile technique
• Accurately document exams and findings in Cerner and PenRad to maintain MQSA compliance
• Collaborate with radiologists to present complicated mammographic cases and ensure excellent diagnostic support
• Float to other breast centers as needed while maintaining consistent patient care standards

Qualifications

• Current ARRT Mammography (M) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of mammography experience, with strong screening mammogram experience
• Competent in magnification views, spot compression, advanced mammography imaging and patient positioning
• IV certification required; BLS certification required
• Demonstrated competence with stereotactic biopsies, pre-surgical localizations and contrast enhanced mammography preferred
• Comfortable working in a busy women’s imaging center and mindful of patients with prior cancer treatment
• Up-to-date MQSA documentation and required mammography training hours per facility policy

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of initial 40 hours of mammography training and required continuing education per MQSA
• Completion of 8 hours digital mammography training and 8 hours digital tomosynthesis training (current or willing to complete)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in digital mammography and digital tomosynthesis
• Familiarity with Cerner and PenRad documentation systems
• Skilled with GE Senographe Pristina equipment
• Strong patient care, communication and positioning skills
• Competent in sterile and invasive procedural support
• Ability to present imaging findings clearly to radiologists and care teams
• Good time management to handle high-volume screening days
