Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing and analysis following established procedures
• Prepare, label, and process specimens while maintaining chain of custody and proper documentation
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and run quality control to ensure reliable results
• Adhere to CLIA 88 personnel requirements and all applicable laboratory safety and compliance standards
• Communicate test results and critical information clearly to clinical staff and supervisors
• Troubleshoot routine instrument or process issues and escalate complex problems appropriately
• Document procedures, results, and corrective actions thoroughly to support patient care and audits
• Contribute to a positive team culture by supporting colleagues and adapting to staffing needs

Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by a recognized certifying agent, or eligible for registry as a Medical Laboratory Technician
• Ability to meet all personnel requirements for testing under CLIA 88
• Comfortable working evening shifts and every other Sunday as part of a 4x10 schedule
• Professionalism and reliability; traveler contracts may be terminated for not meeting regional performance expectations

Education

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of routine laboratory testing and specimen handling
• Familiarity with CLIA 88 compliance and laboratory quality control practices
• Ability to operate common clinical laboratory instruments and follow maintenance protocols
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
• Good communication skills for interacting with clinical teams and logging results
