Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered occupational therapy services to residents in a skilled nursing environment
• Assess functional status and develop individualized treatment plans that promote independence
• Implement therapeutic interventions, adaptive techniques, and assistive device training
• Collaborate with nursing, rehab, and family members to ensure coordinated care
• Document care, progress, and discharge plans clearly and on time
• Educate residents and caregivers on strategies to maintain function and safety

Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy license in Texas or eligibility to obtain one
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Experience in skilled nursing or long term care is a plus
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication, and a team-first attitude

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (or OTD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and treatment planning for adult and geriatric populations
• Adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment recommendations
• Fall prevention strategies and mobility training
• Skilled documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
