Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care across Med-Surg units as a float pool RN
• Assess patient condition, implement nursing interventions, and monitor outcomes
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete Trinity specialty competency testing
• Adapt quickly to different unit workflows and support staffing needs where required
• Uphold infection control and safety protocols, including required health screenings

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (license verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required per posting
• Experience in Med-Surg nursing and float pool assignments preferred
• Ability and willingness to float to MercyOne West Des Moines when scheduled
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (TB, MMR, COVID-19, Hep B, etc.)

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med-Surg clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Comfort working across multiple units and adapting to new teams
• Proficiency with nursing documentation and Trinity skills checklist processes
• Ability to complete specialty competency testing and follow facility-specific protocols
• Good communication and teamwork in dynamic clinical settings
• Adaptability to shifting priorities and varied unit workflows
