Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and strips to detect changes quickly and act decisively
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based Med/Surg nursing care for patients with CHF, diabetes, PNA, CKD and related conditions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including PCTs, RTs, Charge Nurses and Educators to deliver coordinated care
• Document thoroughly and accurately in Paragon EHR to maintain continuity and quality of care
• Manage patient assessments, medication administration, and follow physician orders safely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and post-discharge care to support better outcomes
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed and adapt to changing patient assignments with professionalism

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible to work in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (Med/Surg/Telemetry preferred)
• Current BLS certification required
• Strong cardiac strip interpretation and telemetry monitoring experience
• Comfortable working with CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow patients
• Excellent communication and time-management skills
• Ability to work every other weekend and cover holidays as required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or BSN preferred (BSN not required)
• Active RN license (TX)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac strip interpretation
• Med/Surg nursing practices and acute care for CHF, diabetes, PNA, CKD
• Experience with Paragon electronic health record
• Familiarity with respiratory support equipment: CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow
• Effective communication, delegation and teamwork with PCTs and interdisciplinary staff
• Strong prioritization and time-management under typical 12-hour workload
