Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to detect changes early and act decisively
• Provide high-quality medical-surgical care to telemetry patients, including neurology, cardiology, urology, ortho, renal and pulmonary cases
• Perform sterile procedures and maintain sterile field during Foley catheter insertions and central line dressing changes
• Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Assist with phlebotomy and routine patient care tasks when phlebotomy is short-handed
• Participate in required SIMs Lab skills assessments and competency validations
• Float to sister facility in Laveen when needed, maintaining consistent standards of care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state of practice or compact privileges preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg preferred)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to signing COA (2 attempts allowed)
• Comfortable with Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes or willing to demonstrate competency in SIMs Lab
• COVID vaccine required or a completed declination form with supporting clergy or MD documentation
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and float as needed

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and rhythm-driven interventions
• Sterile technique and procedure room best practices
• Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing care
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical record
• Wound care, lifts and restraints knowledge
• Basic phlebotomy skills and teamwork during high-volume times
• Comfort caring for a wide variety of med-surg and telemetry diagnoses
